Trainers, we're in the home stretch! Professor Zahra revealed to us data on the two pseudo-legendary Pokemon of the region - Sinama and Scorpet - as well as two new Genesis Forms - Avalugg and Volcarona!
Sinama
Sinama is a newly discovered pseudolegendary Pokemon, and is a pure Dragon type. Sinama are inquisitive, but very hyper at times. They have several gems, the central one of which is on its back and controls much of this Pokemon's arcane power. The gem on its tail is an orb with charged energy, most of which goes unreleased due to the threat of the orb cracking. They have digital star-like patterns on their backs and lower jaws, which they use as signal lights to find others in their group.
Scorpet
Scorpet is a newly discovered pseudolegendary Pokemon, and is a pure Poison type. Scorpet have very small claws on their hands, barely capable of slicing through rock. However, the stinger and gem on their tails are much stronger, as they can inject lethal poisons into the enemy. Scorpet are often kept by many households as they are potent pest removers, getting of Scarub, Leaviray, and the like. They use the small, gem-like protrusions on their skulls as eyes to surprise Pokemon and people.
Genesis Avalugg
Genesis Avalugg is a newly discovered Genesis Form for Avalugg, and is an Ice/Ghost type. This Pokemon is the epitome of climate change, as it is evidence that the melting ice caps are raising sea levels, and in many ways, warming the planet extensively. Upon Genesizing, Avalugg sees a dramatic shift in its biology, as its body starts to break off and shatter. The spectral energy added to its body as a result of the additional Ghost typing not shows the icy soul of this Pokemon slowly leaving, but provides it with extra energy to handle strong attacks. This Pokemon was worshipped for its resilience, and is at the forefront of pro-climate policy. Genesis Avalugg is a Pokemon Delta exclusive, and requires the Spirituality Trait.
Genesis Volcarona
Genesis Volcarona is a newly discovered Genesis Form for Volcarona, and is a Bug/Fire type. This Pokemon is believed to be an emissary for Razolteun, bringing heat to the colder areas of the region. However, legends depict this Pokemon with Genesis Avalugg working against one another to create the apocalypse. Genesis Volcarona was even the center of an intermediate period of turmoil, where an evil king denounced the existence of the Genesis Trio and made Genesis Volcarona and Genesis Avalugg the central deities of the apocalyptic end of the Carah Region. Genesis Volcarona is a Pokemon Gamma exclusive, and requires the Royalty Trait.
Goreslash goes Competitive!
Goreslash joins the ranks of Competitive Pokemon as we evaluate its competitive viability! Both of Goreslash's forms will be analyzed as their stats and ability effects are somewhat different. Goreslash's signature ability - Reversion - allows it to receive a free stat boost (+1 Def if Therium, +1 Atk if Serpent) if hit by a super effective move. This can result in some interesting battle scenarios, as foes will be forced to make a choice - use a super effective move and give you a stat boost, or not use super effective moves at all! Regardless, both forms are incredibly powerful. Check out the Competitive Pokemon section for more information on these threats!
UNDERSTANDING THE HOME STRETCH
The next few updates will reveal the final evos of the pseudo legendaries, the final Genesis Forms, and even more exciting Pokemon! We hope our trainers are excited to finish strong! We'll see you soon!
POKEMON REDESIGNS
After the last installment of re-rendering the starters, I figured one more Pokemon with that kind of change was necessary - Godorucha! Arguably one of the cutest Pokemon in the region, it's based on the Golden spiny mouse in the Sahara desert in Egypt. My biggest issue with its shadows was that they looked too blocky, so I fixed that and made its shiny a little different!
I'm not sure if I need to redesign any other Pokemon, but I may re-render some like this. I'll see you in the next update!
