Professor Zahra
The Carah Region's own Professor Zahra has lived in the region all her life. She loves to spend time with all kinds of Pokemon, and as a result, was the pioneer of the Genesis Ball. Introducing the Genesis Factor!
Professor Zahra and DELMAC are excited to introduce the Genesis Factor, a new metric used to determine if a Pokemon will gain a Genesis Form. The factor's mechanic is simple: upon checking a Pokemon's info page from the New Pokemon or Pokédex section, if the Pokemon has the following symbol on the top right of its page, that means that it is likely that the Pokemon gets a Genesis Form. Additionally, a list of Pokemon that can have Genesis Forms will be constantly updated in this section until we have discovered all of the Genesis Forms. We estimate that there are around 24 total Genesis Forms.
PLEASE NOTE that if a Pokemon doesn't have that factor when you check it first, you can check it after every update to see if it will get a Genesis Form.

The Secret Behind Genesis Forms!
Professor Zahra has announced some more information regarding Genesis Forms and their functionality in the region. The information below details how to get Genesis Forms in the Carah Region. Keep in mind that the G-Necklace is a necessary item in this process, as well as the Trait Transposer.

-
The trainer acquires the G-Necklace in Dhaklasis (DC-8).
-
There are places called Pulsar Tombs, where Genesis Forms can be activated. If the Pokemon has the right trait, then it can access its Genesis Form. Starter Pokemon only received at the beginning of the game will come with the Divinity Trait, the trait necessary to access their Genesis Forms. Some Genesis Forms can only be attained with one trait, like Dramarine, while others are more flexible, like Psycharinga.
-
-
There is at least one Pulsar Tomb in each of the 17 major cities, and a few in each Wild Area.
-
-
-
Genesis Forms can be passed down from parent to offspring if the parent is holding the Trait Transposer, a new item that allows Pokemon to transfer traits to one another via breeding.
-
-
If a Pokemon with a certain trait at the front of your party is holding the Trait Transposer, then the chances of finding a Pokemon with that trait are increased by 50%.
-
-

The best way to explain this is with an example. Say, for instance, a trainer catches a Dramarine in Dhaklasis. If the trainer wants to find out if his Dramarine is capable of Genesizing, he would have to interact with the Pulsar Tomb. The tomb will show which trait the Dramarine has. If the Dramarine has the Luminosity Trait (evident on Genesis Dramarine’s page), then the trainer’s Dramarine is capable of accessing its Genesis Form. If it has the Healer Trait, it cannot access its Genesis Form. If the trainer wishes to increase his chances of finding a Dramarine with the Luminosity Trait, then he should have a Pokemon in the front of his party with the Luminosity Trait (such as a Gerbuniya) holding the Trait Transposer.

A New Pattern has Been Discovered!

A new pattern has been discovered in the ruins of the Sanaia Forest (DB-5). Archeologists had to get past several Primavia and Scaraterra to acquire this pattern, but no one is quite sure what this represents. There is conflicting evidence, so hopefully someone can give us some answers. Trainers, be on the lookout because a lot of things are happening in the Carah region. The archeologist also discovered the following phrase, but it has not yet been deciphered:
The stars have been aligned, our Earth has left us the diametric legends.
Oh how many titans we have…how we suffer.
- Nova, Quake
Upon figuring it out we will let our trainers know. Until then, we wish our trainers the best of luck in deciphering the code!
**Please note that the discovery of this pattern has been fully identified. News Update 022 revealed that the patterns belong to two newly discovered legendary titans - Reginova and Regiquake. Reginova is an Astral-type titan, and Regiquake is a Ground-type titan. Feel free to reference the New Pokemon section for more information.
A New Key Item - the Genesis Origizer!
March 26, 2021

A new item has been uncovered at the Pharogon Ruins - The Genesis Origizer. This item is unique in the sense that its function is unknown, but there are 6 glowing stones on the outside with one in the middle, where the middle one is powering the 6 outer stones through the conduction of Origin Energy. Where the central crystal is getting its energy from remains to be discovered, but for now, we know that this item is incredibly elusive, and will be tough to understand. It may be a while before we can uncover its secrets.
Ancient Cave Writings and Texts Discovered!
March 5, 2021
Professor Zahra and her archeological team have discovered something incredible - Ancient Carahnian cave writings! These cave writings are assumed to be around 4500 years old, as some of the first Carahnian people wrote these writings. The drawings are assumed to be representations of Razolteun and Amulteun, which is unique because it's possible that these Pokemon may have more frequently helped the people and Pokemon of the time. The only problem is that these writings are not easily decipherable. It is unclear what they say, but a few linguistic experts have suggested that they mention something regarding peril and violence.

Another important discovery is of the ancient texts from the tribes and colonies of long ago. Click "READ NOW" to read the ancient texts. You may learn a thing or two about the Carah Region, and even more about the history of what makes this such an amazing place.

A New Item Has Been Discovered - The Astral Stone!

The Astral Stone is one of the few items in the Carah Region that's a common occurrence in forests and mountains. The stone is often used for evolutions, like Carahnian Boldore into Galicolith, or Carahnian Yamask into Pharaogrigus. It can be found in Swing Villa in Aswington.

The stars inside the stone are rumored to be crystalized Origin Energy, but it's a very rare sight to see an Astral stone broken. The stones are filled with so much Origin Energy that its near impossible to break them by normal techniques.

Regional Variants have been Discovered in Carah!
Regional variants - a topic of interest for several Pokemon researchers! They were first discovered in the Alola region nearly 4 years ago, and since then, variants have been found in Galar, and now Carah!
As a refresher, regional variants are Pokemon that are in two distinct regions but have slightly different biologies that affect typing, species classification, abilities, and more! Carah is no exception to the regional variant line, and even has some areas where regional variants are in abundance!
The first ever regional variants discovered in the Carah region were Sandile Krokorok, and Roggenrola. For more information on these new regional variants, please visit the New Pokemon section of the site.
Genesis Forms have been Revealed!
December 30, 2020

Genesis Forms have been a hot topic in the community lately, and we've finally gotten the chance to see some of them! Professor Zahra spoke with us regarding the new forms and how they function in battle. To see the full conversation, click on PDG News and look at the latest updates!

The three forms revealed today were: Genesis Arsinoceros, Genesis Venophlame, and Genesis Khelshark. Here is the basic info:

Genesis Arsinoceros - Grass/Astral
Genesis Venophlame - Fire/Astral
Genesis Khelshark - Water/Astral

Not all Genesis Forms will be Astral type, but the ones discovered so far are Astral type. Trainers need to receive the G-Necklace in order to Genesize their Pokemon.

The G-Necklace is an item that allows trainers to Genesize their Pokemon. Most trainers receive their necklaces from Orikmet, the Champion of the Carah region, in Dhaklasis (DC-8). The item inside the necklace is an Origem, an item that draws Origin Energy from the atmosphere and allows the Pokemon to gain immense strength, and grow to the sizes that they do.

A point of interest that Professor Zahra mentions in her Genesis Report DG-4 is that the forms gain what's called an aureole atop their being. This aureole is referred to as the Genesis Aureole, and is believed to be the source of the Genesis Forms' powers.

An interview with Professor Zahra allowed us to gain more insight into the way Genesis Forms work. In order to see the full interview, feel free to check News Update 004. However, the following points depict the condensed version of the mechanics of Genesis Forms. UPDATE: More information about Genesis Forms has been revealed in Update 024.

- Only certain Pokemon can attain Genesis Forms, which is referred to as reaching a Genesized State.
- Pokemon that Genesize will remain in their Genesis Form until they reach 50% HP or less, at which point they will revert to their original forms.
- Genesis Forms cannot be accessed by any side until at least 3 turns have elapsed in the battle.
- NEW: There can be a max of 2 Genesis Forms on any battlefield - 1 per trainer. If there is only one Genesis Form on the battlefield, then that form can stay until it reaches 50% HP and returns to its original form. However, if there are 2 Genesis Forms on the field, then a 5-turn timer is added.
- The Pokemon that Genesizes gets a 50% boost to its most prominent stat. If there are any stat ties, then the more frequently used stat will get a boost.
- All Pokemon that have Genesis Forms also have a unique moveset called a Genesis Moveset. This is a moveset of 3 extra moves that only Genesis-capable Pokemon can access. Pokemon can learn up to 2 Genesis Moves (G-Moves) at a time, and can use those two moves in addition to the four moves a Pokemon normally learns, bringing the effective total of moves to 6 moves. Most of these moves have power boosts and unique secondary effects. Some moves are universal, while others are specific to certain Pokemon.
- Genesis Forms also have Genesis Abilities. Genesis Abilities are essentially a powered up version of a Pokemon's regular or hidden ability, but they can only have one.

If trainers wish to access Genesis Forms, they need to obtain the G-Necklace, which contains the Origem, an item that draws in Origin Energy to Genesize the Pokemon. The location of this item is currently unknown.
