Pokemon Movesets - A Competitive Perspective

One of the greatest aspects of the Pokemon World, and particularly the Carah Region, is the emphasis on Pokemon Battling. Many of our favorite Pokemon may be more than just cool or cute companions, as they can also prove to be very useful in the competitive Pokemon battling scene. Please keep in mind that we are NOT competitive experts, nor will this be a full guide to using certain Pokemon. The following will simply bring certain Pokemon to light because of their unique abilities, movesets, stats, etc. If any member wishes to expand on the competitive scene, you may suggest ideas through the PDG Competitive Format Form, linked above. However, do keep in mind that Pokemon battling is just one of the many fun aspects of the Carah Region that our trainers can partake in, and that at the end of the day, the relationships we form and the decisions we make regarding our favorite companions are the most important values that we wish to exude. Regardless, please enjoy the following entries!

Razolteun: Fire/Fairy

Abilities: Infernal Delta

Razolteun is the Legendary Pokemon of Pokemon Delta, and is one of the strongest Pokemon in the entire region. In terms of stats, Razolteun has an absurd 170 base Sp. Atk and Spe, and 150 Sp. Def. Razolteun also has the unique type combination of Fire/Fairy, and its ability allows it to restore 30% of its max HP if hit by a super-effective physical attack. Moreover, it's signature move - Solar Storm - is a 160 base power Sp. Atk/100% acc. Fire-type move, where the attack burns the foe, and cures any status ailment on the user's side. This can be incredibly useful when you're in a tough situation and need to heal your team. In addition to this, Razolteun gets access to attacks like Fire Blast, Blast Burn, Eruption, Moonblast, Moonlight, Pyrophoric Blast, Hurricane, Solar Beam, Telekinetic Force, Future Sight, Solar flare, Nebula Blast, and Constellation Fusillade. Razolteun can very heavily benefit from the Life Orb or the Choice Specs/Scarf.

Razolteun also benefits from its trait - the Fortune Trait. The trait works such that if Razolteun is hit by a special super-effective attack, it restores 50% of its HP. This trait also increases the power of critical hits from 50% more to 75% more. This only works once, however. What this means is that Razolteun, as its species category suggests, is an emblem of fortune for your side of the party, and will make it so that it practically never faints! It's important to keep in mind that Razolteun would theoretically be banned from most competitive formats.

Amulteun: Ghost/Fairy

Abilities: Spectral Gamma

Amulteun is the Legendary Pokemon of Pokemon Gamma, and is one of the strongest Pokemon in the entire region. In terms of stats, Amulteun has an absurd 170 base Atk and Def, and 150 HP. Amulteun also has the unique type combination of Ghost/Fairy, and its ability causes the opponent to lose 30% of their max HP if hit by super-effective physical attack. Moreover, it's signature move - Phantasmal Blitz - is a 160 base power Atk/100% acc. Ghost-type move, where the attack puts the foe to sleep, and cures any status ailment on the user's side. This can be incredibly useful when you're in a tough situation and need to heal your team. In addition to this, Amulteun gets access to attacks like Phantom Force, Poltergeist, Play Rough, Mysticism, Debilitating Warning, Moonlight, Destiny Bond, Close Combat, Cursed Touch, Parallelax, Singularity, and Black Hole Fusillade. Amulteun can very heavily benefit from Leftovers or the Choice Band.

Amulteun also benefits from its trait - the Sin Trait. The trait works such that if Amulteun is hit by a special super-effective attack, the foe loses 50% of its max HP. This trait also increases the power of critical hits from 50% more to 75% more. This only works once, however. What this means is that Amulteun, as its species category suggests, is an emblem of sin for the opponent's side of the party, and will make it so that your opponents faint much faster than normal! It's important to keep in mind that Amulteun would theoretically be banned from most competitive formats.

Arsinoceros: Grass/Rock

Abilities: Overgrow, Rock Head (HA)

Arsinoceros is an incredibly viable Pokemon due to its moves and abilities, and is therefore one of the strongest starters. Its signature move - Stonehead Spear - is a physical attack that allows it to deal super-effective damage to Steel and Dragon types. Furthermore, with access to moves like Synthesis, Wood Hammer, Grassy Glide, Head Smash, Earthquake, Heavy Slam, Asteroid Impact, Tombstone Dance, and Sacred Sword, Arsinoceros can be a serious threat to many Pokemon. Additionally, its Hidden Ability - Rock Head - also allows it to freely use powerful attacks without having to worry about recoil or crash damage.

Arsinoceros could certainly benefit from a Choice Band or Weakness Policy to help boost its 122 base Atk. or an Assault Vest to help it survive strong special attacks.

Finally, using the Ferocity trait to reduce the damage done by status conditions, or the Divinity trait to receive an omniboost and a STAB boost upon entry will seriously make Arsinoceros a massive threat.

Arsino_attack.PNG
Venophlame_attack.PNG

Venophlame: Fire/Poison

Abilities: Blaze, Flash Fire (HA)

Venophlame, though frail, can be an absolute powerhouse if used properly with its 134 base Sp. Atk. Venophlame's signature move, Venomous Flare, is a 110 base power special attack that also removes its 4x weakness to Ground and 2x weakness to Rock by making Ground and Rock-type attacks do 1x damage for 3 turns. This is incredibly useful, as its 140 base Speed means that it outspeeds competitive threats like Khelshark, Arsinoceros, and Garchomp, and can weaken their attacks. Furthermore, with access to moves like Eruption, Mystical Fire, Sludge Bomb, Venoshock, Dark Pulse, Solar Flare, and Flash Cannon, Venophlame can definitely take on even the toughest of opponents. Pairing its Royalty trait, which gives it priority over moves like Aqua Jet and Accelerock, with Choice Scarf or Choice Specs can make its opponents cower in fear.

Khelshark_attack.PNG

Khelshark: Water/Steel

Abilities: Torrent, Swift Swim (HA)

Khelshark is the strongest Carahnian starter in terms of its BST, but its moveset helps this even further. Khelshark's massive 138 base Attack stat with its 130 base Speed makes it a formidable opponent that is likely outspeeding most Pokemon. Its signature move, Hydrous Duovortex, is a 110 base power physical attack that makes all Electric, Steel, and Fighting-type moves 50% less accurate. This paired with its other moves like Fishious Rend, Liquidation, Meteor Mash, Iron Head, Aerial Ace, Sacred Sword, Aqua Jet, Singularity, and Ice Shard, can make Khelshark near unstoppable. The Luminosity trait paired with its signature move will make it very difficult to hit Khelshark, and the Divinity trait can make Khelshark so strong that it can OHKO certain Pokemon.

Psycharinga.PNG

Psycharinga: Psychic/Flying

Abilities: Keen Eye, Rattled, Psychic Surge (HA)

Psycharinga can certainly be a threat because of its ability Psychic Surge. Psycharinga has an astounding 120 base Sp. Atk and above average 98 base Sp. Def, so it can certainly take some special hits. Psycharinga can make use of this ability with moves like Expanding Force and Terrain Pulse. It also gets access to moves like Psychic, Future Sight, Recover, Hurricane, Shadow Ball, and Moonblast that all help as well.

Using Psycharinga's Spirituality trait to avoid entry hazards as long as its HP is above 50% is an added bonus to this Pokemon's general viability. Therefore, despite its subpar speed, a Terrain Extender or a Choice Scarf and some special investment can make a Psychic Surge-Psycharinga a serious threat.

Galvaclysm: Electric/Dark

Abilities: Iron Fist, Galvanize, Charging Impulse (HA)

Galvaclysm is the kind of Pokemon that works best in Double Battles, as its hidden ability allows it to gain a 10% attack boost to its Electric-type attacks, which when paired with its signature move Generator Crash - a 125 base power physical Electric-type attack - can make this Pokemon unstoppable. If Generator Crash and Charging Impulse are activated properly (accounting for STAB and Electric Terrain as an added bonus), Generator Crash can be up to 325 power as a neutral hit without any items. Do keep in mind that the perfect conditions must be met, but if they are, then Galvaclysm can be a massively offensive threat. It also gets access to moves like the elemental punches, Darkest Lariat, Thunderclap, Hammer Arm, and Iron Head, so it can cover itself well. Its low speed can also help it in Trick Room, and with the Ferocity trait, Galvaclysm can genuinely be a META-defining threat.

galvaclysm.PNG
Dramarine.PNG

Dramarine: Dragon/Water

Abilities: No Guard, Immunity

Dramarine is a good Pokemon because of its spectacular typing of Dragon/Water. This is great defensive typing, having only two weaknesses and three resistances. Looking at its stats, Dramarine is an entirely specially based Pokemon, with 135 Sp. Atk and 120 Sp. Def, with a good 100 Speed and HP. With access to moves like Life Dew, Calm Mind, Water Spout, Draco Meteor, Dazzling Gleam, and Sludge Wave, Dramarine definitely fills the role of a defensive wall. Its massive Sp. Atk allows it to fire off large blows to its opponents, and its 120 Sp. Def and 100 HP help it survive some hits longer. Its Immunity ability also prevents it from being poisoned, and paired with the Healer trait, there's little way to remove Dramarine from the field.

Snatirragon: Bug/Dragon

Ability: Draconic Decoy

Snatirragon is perhaps one of the most versatile Pokemon in the whole region because of its ability, stats, and massive movepool. With 145 in both Def and Sp. Def, and a solid 100 Atk, Snatirragon will be staying on the field for a while, especially under Trick Room conditions. Its ability allows it to absorb the first Dragon-type attack used against it, and then gain a 50% evasion boost upon the use of its next Dragon-type attack. This can be incredibly useful, especially if a powerful Dragon-type Pokemon like Garchomp or Xoroxenia is on the field. Furthermore, with access to moves like Attack Order, Defend Order, Heal Order, Leech Life, First Impression, Belly Drum, Dragon Hammer, Breaking Swipe, Parallelax, Iron Head, and Rock Slide, this Pokemon can easily fight off numerous opponents. Furthermore, with the Dexterity trait, this Pokemon can receive a boost to its Defenses upon entry, and paired with a Sitrus berry or Leftovers, this Pokemon can be incredibly threatening.

Snatirragon.PNG
Shanswar.PNG

Shanswar: Ground/Fighting

Ability: Scrappy, Anger Point (HA)

Shanswar is a rare Pokemon to encounter, but is incredibly powerful if used in the right way. The first thing to address is its typing - it's not exactly stellar. Ground/Fighting has a slew of weakness, many of which are of very prominent Pokemon like Khelshark, Dramarine, Psycharinga, and especially Khuvorbit. However, its stats can counter this, because a 150 Atk and 128 Speed are incredible for a sweeper set. Because Shanswar gets access to moves like Earthquake, High Horsepower, Close Combat, Drain Punch, Rock Slide, Tombstone Dance, Iron Head, Giga Impact, and the elemental Punches, it can cover for its many weaknesses. Its hidden ability Anger Point is also incredible, as it allows it to maximize its attack and make full use of that 150 Atk. Accounting for STAB boosts, an Earthquake from a Choice Band Shanswar with Anger Point activated would do over 900 power of damage as a neutral hit. The Ferocity and Royalty traits only make this Pokemon more broken, especially Royalty as it adds +1 priority to all moves, making sure that it for sure outspeeds and does big damage to its foe before they can do big damage to it. A 90 base Def. is certainly nothing to scoff at, but with the right investment, Shanswar can be truly BROKEN.

Cypyrus: Grass

Ability: Effect Spore, Grassy Surge (HA)

Cypyrus is a rather subpar Pokemon with below average HP, Atk, and Def, but excellent Spd, Spe, and SpA. Cypyrus's hidden ability, Grassy Surge, will allow it to extract the most benefit out of Grassy Terrain, and even use it to its advantage by healing a little bit each turn. Like Psycharinga, it can take full advantage of Grassy Surge despite its middling stats because of its movepool. With access to moves like Synthesis, Leaf Storm, Giga Drain, Spiky Shield, Strength Sap, Cotton Guard, Toxic Spikes, Ancient Power, and and Psychic, it can cover its weaknesses in type coverage and stat coverage, and really make use of the extra healing. Additionally, a new Grass-type move introduced in this generation - Rejuvenation - will allow Cypyrus to gain added benefits from Grassy Terrain. Rejuvenation is a 90 base power special move that normally restores all status conditions, but if the attack is used while Grassy Terrain is active, then not only does the user remove its status conditions, but the user resets all negative stat drops. This can be very handy when using moves like Leaf Storm. Paired with the Healer trait and a Sitrus Berry (which both heal HP), this Pokemon can actually become very difficult to remove off of the battlefield. Cypyrus is definitely a force to be reckoned with, so don't let its mediocre stats fool you!

Cypyrus V2.PNG
Pharaogrigus.PNG

Pharaogrigus: Rock/Ghost

Ability: Mummy, Wandering Spirit, Rough Skin (HA)

Pharaogrigus may look like a Pokemon that doesn't present much at face value, but in reality, there are a few things that make it unique and surprisingly powerful. Regardless, in terms of stats, 150 Def, 145 Sp. Def, and 100 Atk. are definitely a good set of stats to have for a bulky offensive hitter. A low 37 Spe. means it can also take advantage of Trick Room. In fact, that's just what makes Pharaogrigus so useful - its moveset. In terms of abilities, Rough Skin is likely the best ability, but the other two are not bad abilities at all. In terms of moves, with access to moves like Stone Edge, Rock Slide, Phantom Force, Shadow Claw, Hammer Arm, Foul Play, Trick Room, Tombstone Dance, Cursed Touch, and Asteroid Impact, Pharaogrigus can boost itself heavily and be a potent threat on the battlefield. With the Spirituality trait, this Pokemon can also evade entry hazards and make it so that it doesn't lose an exorbitant amount of HP before even getting to attack. Moreover, under Trick Room, with moves like Hammer Arm, it can make itself faster, and with moves like Tombstone Dance and Shell Smash, it can boost itself further and attack the opponent. Additionally, with some healing items (such as a Sitrus Berry or Leftovers), it can stay on the field and continue to pester your opponents.

Khuvorbit: Psychic/Astral

Ability: Rending Psychosis

Khuvorbit is one the strongest new Pokemon in this region, not just because of its BST, but because of its ability and learnset. It's typing is unfortunately somewhat of a drawback, because Psychic/Astral is weak to Electric, Flying, Ice, Dark, and Bug, but also has 3 immunities. Therefore, it's typing can be a hinderance, but it's nothing that its ability cannot handle. Rending Psychosis allows Khuvorbit to deal 60% of the user's max HP upon switching into battle, which means that if any of your Pokemon are in danger of fainting, a simple swap into Khuvorbit can reduce the Pokemon's HP by 60%. Additionally, Khuvorbit's signature move, Orbital Creation, is a 100 base power Psychic type move that confuses the opponent, and has a 50% chance to lower the opponent's Sp. Atk by 1 stage. Moreover, it can make use of its 160 base Sp. Atk with moves like Future Sight, Telekinetic Force, Cosmotose, Meteor Beam,  Comet Storm, Constellation Fusillade, Cosmic Shock, Scorching Sands, Trick Room, Cosmic Power, and Thunder, Khuvorbit is incredibly versatile in its viability. Putting a Choice Specs or even a Life Orb on this Pokemon can be devastating to your opponents. The final aspect is the Divinity Trait, which will allow Khuvorbit to gain an omniboost upon entering, and will make its STAB attacks 80% boosted rather than 50%. Khuvorbit is truly a viciously powerful Pokemon.

Khuvorbit.PNG

Spharamynx: Ground/Fairy

Ability: Rough Skin, Riddle (HA)

Spharamynx is an incredibly powerful Pokemon, largely because of how gimmicky it is. Spharamynx's stats are overall excellent, with a 114 base Sp. Atk and a good 100 base Def. However, it's this Pokemon's hidden ability that makes it so incredible. Spharamynx's regular ability, Rough Skin, makes the foe take some damage with each contact attack used against it. It's hidden ability, Riddle, suggests that if this Pokemon is hit by a super effective attack, its Sp. Atk raises by 1 stage, but if this Pokemon is hit by a not very effective attack, its Sp. Atk drops by 1 stage. This implies that in order to limit any alteration to this Pokemon's Sp. Atk, foes must use neutral hits. Moreover, with access to attacks like Earth Power, Desert Storm, Telekinetic Force, Cursed Touch, Nebula Blast, Moonblast, Psychic, Equinox Toxic, Calm Mind, Recover, Spikes, Cosmic Power, and Omniscient Galaxy, Spharamynx can seriously be a massive threat to its opponents. Furthermore, with the Luminosity Trait, this Pokemon can get a 50% boost to its evasion when its HP goes below 50%, and can then easily heal itself with Recover. A Sitrus Berry or Leftovers on this Pokemon will drive your opponents crazy!

Spharamynx.PNG

Gizamel: Ground

Ability: Drought, Sand Stream, Water Absorb (HA)

Although not staggeringly powerful, Gizamel can still be uniquely strong because of its hidden ability and exorbitantly wide movepool. In terms of stats, a good 100 HP, 90 Atk, and 130 Def. are solid base stats for a 500 BST Pokemon. Gizamel also has some of the most unique abilities, like Drought and Sand Stream, which can help it against its weaknesses. Gizamel's hidden ability, Water Absorb, directly removes it weakness to Water-type attacks, and rather allows it to heal. Furthermore, Gizamel has access to a wide movepool, including attacks like Earthquake, Rock Wrecker, Tombstone Dance, Cursed Touch, Asteroid Impact, Shore Up, Sacred Fire, High Horsepower, Cupric Cypher, Iron Head, Heavy Slam, Knock Off, and Self Destruct. Evidently, with such a wide movepool, Gizamel can counter almost anything, including the all powerful Khelshark. It can make use of all three of its abilities with unique moves, and can also benefit from the Dexterity or Healer traits to keep itself boosted and on the field. It can also be used as a potent weather setter, and can be very useful on rain teams with its hidden ability.

Gizamel.PNG
Bovathor.PNG

Bovathor: Fairy/Psychic

Ability: Inner Focus, Competitive (HA)

Bovathor is the special-side evolution of Bovippo, so it will be utilizing its Special Atk. much more than its physical Atk, especially since it has a blistering 130 Sp. Atk and 110 Spe. This is good, however, because of its hidden ability Competitive, which raises its Sp. Atk when any of its stats are lowered. This may seem like a drawback, but in Pokemon battling, stats being lowered are almost a guarantee to some extent, so its Sp. Atk is bound to increase at least 1 stage. It also gets access to attacks like Cleanse, Psychic, Moonblast, Constellation Fusillade, Future Sight, Expanding Force, Psychic Terrain, Misty Terrain, Shadow Ball, Cosmic Shock, Nebula Blast, Moonlight, and Overheat. It has some coverage, but it unfortunately can't fully utilize its HA with its own attacks. Regardless, the Healer trait also helps Bovathor restore some HP, and the extra HP healed by Moonlight also means that it can avoid entry hazards that may hurt it. Since defense is not its best option, however, giving this Pokemon a Choice Scarf or Choice Specs is a surefire way to make this Pokemon special sweeper that is near unstoppable for some immense offensive power.

Tawerippo: Fighting/Psychic

Ability: Inner Focus, Guts (HA)

Tawerippo is the physical-side evolution of Bovippo, so it will be utilizing its physical Atk. much more than its Sp. Atk, especially since it has a massive 130 Atk. and 110 Spe. This is a positive, as its hidden ability - Guts - raises its Atk by 1 stage if it acquires a status condition. There is always a large possibility of this happening in any given Pokemon battle, but it's still not entirely a guarantee. Regardless, it makes up for the ability's potentially lackluster impact with its moveset. This Pokemon has access to attacks like Play Rough, Zen Headbutt, Psycho Cut, Close Combat, Sacred Sword, Celestial Punch, the elemental punches, Iron Head, Poison Jab, Cursed Touch, Thunderclap, Cross Chop, Swords Dance, and Black Hole Fusillade. With access to so many moves, as well as some boosting moves, Tawerippo can act as a physical sweeper for your team, being able to outspeed a variety of Pokemon and hitting really hard. The Choice Band or Choice Scarf, and even the Scope Lens can be devastating for unprepared opponents. Typing is where this falters some, but it has the coverage to more than make up for that.

Tawerippo.PNG
Demitox.PNG

Demitox: Poison/Dark

Ability: Poison Point, Prankster, Merciless (HA)

Demitox, known as a the Sand Devil, is an appropriate name for this Dark-type Pokemon, especially since its only weaknesses are Ground and Astral. It has 3 abilities - Poison Point is great for chip poison damage, Prankster is great for status moves moving first, and Merciless means that its attacks do more damage if the opponent is poisoned. Any of these three abilities will allow it to be the offensive threat that it is, especially with 130 Atk. and 110 Spe, but Merciless may see the most use. Moreover, Demitox has access to numerous moves like Poison Jab, Gunk Shot, Debilitating Warning, Toxic, Singularity, Parallelax, Darkest Lariat, Foul Play, Fire Lash, Icicle Crash, Cursed Touch, and Iron Head, so it can cover its weaknesses pretty well. Given that Demitox has such large Atk. and Spe. stats, it can make good use of a Choice Band or a Choice Scarf. Therefore, Demitox will likely see usage as a fast, physical sweeper on a variety of teams. The Ferocity Trait makes it so that this Pokemon isn't hurt by status conditions as severely, and the Luminosity Trait helps make this Pokemon harder to hit.

Zeblaze: Fire/Steel

Ability: Blaze, Metallic Arson (HA)

Zeblaze, the Blazing Pokemon, sports a variety of competitive edges that can help it excel in numerous situations. The first is its typing - it isn't awful, but it isn't excellent either. Fire/Steel has a 4x weakness to Ground, and a 2x weakness to Water and Fighting, three types that are prevalent in the region. Regardless, this Pokemon can still be very powerful because of its hidden ability: Metallic Arson. Running Sunny Day on this Pokemon (or Drought on an ally) will boost Zeblaze's speed by 1 stage, but lower its defense by 1 stage. This may seem bad, but Zeblaze will outspeed many Pokemon with that 110 base Spe., and can be dangerous with its 120 base Atk. With access to strong physical moves like Fire Lash, Flare Blitz, Blaze Kick, Iron Head, Meteor Mash, Iron Tail, Zing Zap, Knock Off, Debilitating Warning, and Singularity, it can make very good use of its high attack. Its coverage is unfortunately not the greatest, lacking any good attacks against Ground types, but ideally, Zeblaze will serve more as a sweeper. Giving this Pokemon a Choice Scarf or a Choice Band can make it incredibly threatening.

Zeblaze.PNG
Boulderajah.PNG

Boulderajah: Rock/Ground

Ability: Sheer Force, Battle Armor, Guts (HA)

Boulderajah is a rather complicated competitive case because it has several great aspects that give it an edge, but also a few glaring weaknesses. Boulderajah's biggest weakness is its typing of Rock/Ground. Having 6 weaknesses, 2 of which are 4x, this Pokemon can be very easily countered by many threatening competitive opponents, namely Dramarine, Shanswar, Khelshark, Cypyrus, and Khuvorbit. However, there are several redeeming qualities that make this Pokemon more competitively viable than at face value. Its abilities are one aspect, as having Sheer Force (for harder hitting attacks), and Guts (to raise its Atk.) are incredibly beneficial to its 120 base Atk. stat. Additionally, a 110 base Def. stat means that it can make use of moves like Recover, Earthquake, Body Press, Wide Guard, Asteroid Impact, Tombstone Dance, Stone Edge, Close Combat, Stealth Rocks, Spikes, and Foul Play. Giving this Pokemon an Assault Vest with max EVs in Atk, some in Def, and some in HP, this Pokemon can be a defensive wall that's very tough to break.

Wattjed.PNG

Wattjed: Ghost/Electric

Ability: Prankster, Cursed Body, Electric Surge (HA)

With a BST of 500, comprised of a 130 base SpA, and a 103 base SpD, Wattjed is nothing to scoff at. The typing of Ghost/Electric does lend itself to 3 weaknesses, but two immunities is a pretty good balance for that. A low 55 base Spe may seem bad, but it's the Pokemon's abilities and learnset that make up for it. Electric Surge is a great way to get boosted power for Electric-type moves, and Prankster is great for getting status moves on the foe quickly. Wattjed can also make use of its stats and abilities with its moves like Blinding Roar, Thunderclap, Thunder, Shadow Ball, Cleanse, Dark Pulse, Trick Room, Comet Storm, and Zap Cannon. Giving this Pokemon a terrain extender or leftovers will help it use its SpD stat more effectively. The Spirituality Trait on this Pokemon helps the defensive wall aspect, as it can be protected from hazards, and the Luminosity Trait is good because it can make this Pokemon harder to hit. Using a Terrain Extender with a Trick Room, Electric Surge Wattjed with max SpA, SpD, and no speed with Blinding Roar is a fantastic example of its power.

Nekvulger.PNG

Nekvulger: Astral/Flying

Ability: Magic Guard, Pastel Veil, Astral Surge (HA)

With a BST of 500, comprised of a 130 base Atk, and a 103 base Def, Nekvulger is nothing to scoff at. The typing of Astral/Flying does lend itself to many weaknesses, one being 4x. However, several weaknesses can make up for that. Astral Surge is a great way to get boosted power for Astral-type moves, and Pastel Veil is great for preventing poison. Nekvulger can also make use of its stats and abilities with its moves like Asteroid Impact, Singularity, Shadow Ball, Cleanse, Dark Pulse, Swords Dance, Hurricane, Aerial Ace, Brave Bird, and Astral Terrain. Giving this Pokemon a terrain extender or leftovers will help it use its Def stat more effectively. The Spirituality Trait on this Pokemon helps the defensive wall aspect, as it can be protected from hazards, and the Healer Trait is good because it can help gain some HP. Using a Terrain Extender with Swords Dance, Astral Surge Nekvulger with max Atk, Def, and some speed with Singularity is a fantastic example of its power.

Mantouris: Bug/Grass

Ability: Compound Eyes, Frisk, Ripen (HA)

Mantouris is a unique Delta exclusive Pokemon with a variety of qualities that make it an extraordinarily good Pokemon. With a BST of 476, it certainly isn't a Pokemon that can pack the biggest punch. Regardless, it still has some decent stats. A 100 base Atk can be beneficial when it comes to strong physical Bug and Grass moves. With decent Spe and Def stats as well, it can withstand more than it shows. The typing of Bug/Grass isn't great, though, as it has two 4x weaknesses. However, its abilities and learnset make up for this. Frisk is a great ability to receive info about your foe's item upon entry. Ripen allows this Pokemon to double the effect of its berry. Combined with attacks like Knock Off, Power Whip, Solar Blade, Wood Hammer, Rejuvenation, Debilitating Warning, First Impression, Attack Order, U-turn, and Leech Life, this Pokemon may never leave the field. The Healer Trait also means that this Pokemon only heals more HP, and combining this with a Sitrus berry on Ripen has insane potential.

Mantouris.PNG
Chamelicle.PNG

Chamelicle: Ice/Electric

Ability: Ice Body, Lightning Rod, Shed Skin (HA)

Chamelicle is a unique Gamma exclusive Pokemon with a variety of qualities that make it an exceptionally great Pokemon. With a BST of 476, it certainly isn't a Pokemon that can pack the biggest punch. Regardless, it still has some decent stats. A 100 base SpA can be beneficial when it comes to strong special Ice and Electric moves. With decent SpD and Def stats as well, it can withstand more than it shows. This can also be a negative though, as Ice is not great defensive typing. However, Chamelicle's moveset and abilities more than make up for that. Lightning Rod and Ice Body give it immunity to Electric and Ice attacks respectively, and Shed Skin gives it a chance to be essentially immune to status conditions. Moreover, with moves like Ice Beam, Blinding Roar, Cleanse, Firefrost, Blizzard, Thunder, Zap Cannon, and Parallelax, this Pokemon is very well suited to handle its foes. Combined with the Dexterity trait, which allows this Pokemon to receive a boost to its SpA upon entering the battlefield, and an Assault Vest, this surprisingly defensive Pokemon can be a major threat.

Goreslash (Therium): Rock/Fairy

Ability: Reversion

Goreslash's Therium form is a Rock/Fairy type, and is the defensive form of Goreslash. This form has 120 base Def and 120 base Sp.Def, with 100 base HP. It is therefore going to be used more as a wall. However, there's one very important caveat - its ability. Goreslash's signature ability, Reversion, acts such that if this Pokemon is hit by a super effective move, it will change forms. With the Therium Forme, if hit by a super effective move, its Defense is raised by 1 stage and it transforms into the Serpent Form. This is fantastic because it means one of two things: Either your opponent cannot hit you with super effective moves (if they want to fight you with one form, or to prevent you from getting a stat boost), or you will be getting a stat boost almost every turn (as foes will likely use super effective attacks.) Combined with a learnset of Stone Edge, Power Gem, Dark Pulse, Darkest Lariat, Play Rough, Moonblast, Outrage, and Draco Meteor, this Pokemon can be an incredibly tough member of your team that foes will have a hard time getting around.

Goreslash T.PNG

Goreslash (Serpent): Dark/Fairy

Ability: Reversion

Goreslash's Serpent form is a Dark/Fairy type, and is the offensive form of Goreslash. This form has 120 base Atk, 120 base Sp.Atk, and 100 base Speed. It is therefore a fast, offensive sweeper in some ways. However, there's one very important, game-changing caveat - its ability. Goreslash's ability, Reversion, makes it so that when it's hit by a super effective move, it gets a stat boost and changes forms. For the Serpent Forme, upon being hit by a super effective move, this Pokemon receives a 1 stage Atk boost, and reverts to its Therium Forme.

Goreslash S.PNG

Xoroxenia: Dragon/Astral

Abilities: Defiant, Eclipse (HA)

The first pseudo-legendary of Carah is here! Xoroxenia, the Dragon/Astral type Coordinate Pokemon, is a force to be reckoned with for sure. First, its stats. With 100 base HPO, 135 base Sp. A, and an obliterating 155 base Spe., this Pokemon is sure to outspeed most everything on the battlefield, and hit very hard. It's a bit of a glass cannon, having only 68 base Defense. Regardless, this Pokemon's abilties can help it overcome some of these issues. It's hidden ability Eclipse makes it so that it gets a 1 stage Speed boost if the foe has the Royalty trait, or a Sp. A boost if not. This means that either way, Xoroxenia is getting one of its best stats boosted upon entry. Moreover, its signature move - Draconic Blazar - is a 140 power special move that doubles in power if the user has had a stat change the previous turn. This is definitely an insane move, as Xoroxenia has access to Dragon Dance, Draco Meteor, Nebula Blast, Comet Storm, and Omniscient Galaxy. Alongside the divinity trait, this Pokemon can be boosted to oblivion, and is literally one of the most broken Pokemon out there.

Sercarnage: Poison/Steel

Abilities: Poison Point, Zephyr Order

The second pseudo-legendary of Carah is here! Sercarnage, the Poison/Steel type Attack Pokemon, is a force to be reckoned with for sure. First, its stats. With 100 base HP, 135 base Def, and an obliterating 155 base Atk, this Pokemon is sure to OHKO most everything on the battlefield, and take hits well. It's a bit slow, having only 65 base Speed. Regardless, this Pokemon's abilties can help it overcome some of these issues. It's hidden ability Zephyr Order makes it so that the user gains a 1 stage Atk boost if the foe applies a status condition on the user (even burns), and boosts Def if this Pokemon is hit by a super effective move. This means that either way, Sercarnage is getting one of its best stats boosted. Moreover, its signature move - Carnage Shredder - is a 140 power physical move that doubles in power if the user is slower than its foe. This is definitely an insane move, as Sercarnage has access to Iron Head, Poison Jab, Cupric Cypher, Debilitating Warning, Firefrost, and Meteor Mash. Alongside the divinity trait, this Pokemon can be boosted to oblivion, and is literally one of the most broken Pokemon out there.
