News Update 019: Two New Pokemon, Two New Traits!

Writer's picture: Team CarahTeam Carah

Today, DELMAC unveiled two newly discovered Pokemon: Pyramalien - the evolved form of Feldsoul - and Qualabast.

Pyramalien

Pyramalien is a newly discovered Psychic/Astral type Pokemon, and is the evolved form of Feldsoul. Pyramalien are believed to be some of the biggest contributors in the creation of the Pyramids of Order on Kahment Island. They've lost their Rock typing and have instead adapted the Astral typing, meaning that many theories regarding their existence as space asteroids are true. In fact, Pyramalien aren't pyramidions (the building blocks of pyramids) at all, they're asteroids! These celestial bodies of power are rumored to be able to control minds.

Qualabast

Qualabast are arguably some of the most popular domestic Pokemon alongside Caraten, Kiddoe, and Jerball. This may because of their love for helping people, but it may also be due to their status as worshipped deities. Unlike Caraten and Venalynx, Qualabast are sincerely very royal Pokemon, and were worshipped as such by ancient Carahnians. Many texts and writings speak of the sacrifices that people made to these Pokemon, but other texts speak of Qualabast going to see a hidden statue in the Pharogon Desert.

Fortune Trait

This is Razolteun’s signature trait. The Fortune Trait gives eternal fortune to people who are fortunate enough to come across it. The trait amplifies the effects of Razolteun’s signature ability, Deific Infernoforce, so that if Razolteun is hit by a special super-effective attack, it restores 50% of its HP. This trait also increases the power of critical hits from 50% more to 75% more.

Sin Trait

This is Amulteun’s signature trait. The Sin Trait gives eternal punishment to those sinful enough to come across it. The trait amplifies the effects of Amulteun’s signature ability, Deific Spectroforce, so that if Amulteun is hit by a physical super-effective attack, the opponent loses 50% of its max HP. This trait also increases the power of critical hits from 50% more to 75% more.

To discover more about these traits, head to the Battle Data section.

UPDATE TO GENESIS FORMS!

Professor Zahra has announced an update to the functionality of Genesis Forms. After careful consideration and studies, her team has concluded the following:

  1. Genesis Forms do not actually get 5 new signature moves. Genesis Forms only get 2 new moves - moves that are simply powered up versions of other moves with some secondary effects - and a few universal moves. Trainers can still only choose two moves to teach to their Genesis-capable Pokemon, but there will be a set of universal Genesis moves that certain Genesis Forms can learn. This new set of moves will contain 2 signature moves and some universal moves. Check the Battle Data section to learn more about the new moves.

  2. Prior to this new discovery, it was suggested that Genesis Forms had to reach 33% HP to revert back to their original states. New evidence has allowed the conclusion to be made that Genesis Forms cannot sustain themselves past 50% HP, meaning that a Genesis Form will revert to its normal state at 50% or less HP. Check the Story section to learn more.

  3. There has been no change to the gimmick of Genesis Abilities, but some of them have been modified based on new evidence. For example, Shanswar's Genesis Anger Point initially suggest a 4-fold increase in its Attack and Speed stats by 6 stages, but new evidence suggests that this increase in both stats is only by 3 stages.

HOW WILL GENESIS FORMS BE ATTAINED?

Professor Zahra has also introduced how Genesis Forms will work, and it's quite a process to marvel at. The G-Necklace is the item necessary to access Genesis Forms, but there's even more to it. The professor explains more.

Zahra: You see, not all Pokemon that have a Genesis Form can actually access the Genesized State. For example, not all Dramarine can become Genesis Dramarine. However, whether or not a Pokemon will be able to access Genesis Forms depends on whether or not the Pokemon has the right trait. The following shows the process of attaining a Genesis Form, also available in the Story section.

  • The trainer acquires the G-Necklace in Dhaklasis (DC-8).

  • There are places called Pulsar Tombs, where Genesis Forms can be activated. If the Pokemon has the right trait, then it can access its Genesis Form. Starter Pokemon only received at the beginning of the game will come with the Divinity Trait, the trait necessary to access their Genesis Forms. Some Genesis Forms can only be attained with one trait, like Dramarine, while others are more flexible, like Psycharinga.

    • There is at least one Pulsar Tomb in each of the 17 major cities, and a few in each Wild Area.

  • Genesis Forms can be passed down from parent to offspring if the parent is holding the Trait Transposer, a new item that allows Pokemon to transfer traits to one another via breeding.

    • If a Pokemon with a certain trait at the front of your party is holding the Trait Transposer, then the chances of finding a Pokemon with that trait are increased by 50%.

Trait Transponder!

The best way to explain this is with an example. Say, for instance, a trainer catches a Dramarine in Dhaklasis. If the trainer wants to find out if his Dramarine is capable of Genesizing, he would have to interact with the Pulsar Tomb. The tomb will show which trait the Dramarine has. If the Dramarine has the Luminosity Trait (evident on Genesis Dramarine’s page), then the trainer’s Dramarine is capable of accessing its Genesis Form. If it has the Healer Trait, it cannot access its Genesis Form. If the trainer wishes to increase his chances of finding a Dramarine with the Luminosity Trait, then he should have a Pokemon in the front of his party with the Luminosity Trait (such as a Gerbuniya) holding the Trait Transposer.

Other Updates:

- New additional artwork of Cafern, Poiferno, and Ocelpup in the Additional Art section!

- New moves have been added to the New Moves list, check it out!

That's all we have for this update. Please keep an eye out for the next update, as it is a very significant one! Good luck, Trainers!
