Caraten are known for being extremely arrogant and entitled. They demand respect, even though they may not deserve it at times. A few householders keep Caraten as pets in order to guard the house, but the Pokemon often becomes a hassle to take care of. However, most Caraten are kept as royal pets by kings and people of power, as they often require much attention. They have a special attraction to gold and other shiny objects, and will often force their trainers to spoil them with jewels, even though they may not be able to afford it. They do best in battle when their skill or demeanor is challenged.
